Re: How to feed a family on $70 a week, recipes etc
That actually looks a lot the way my family eats. I feed a family of 8 on $500/month. We cook from scratch. We eat well. I take the leftovers for lunch the next day.

ahhh brings me back to my collage days- potatos, top rahman, spam, penut butter and jelly with beer fixed 360 different ways. I think we had a buget then and 20 bucks was the food money for the week for three guys. The rest went into the beer fund which was considerably more

Re: How to feed a family on $70 a week, recipes etc
I have a canal in my back yard off the deck and patio. We feed the ducks. (wild mallards)My kids will toss them all our high dollar bread in no time. So I went to a bread outlet and asked for some duck bread. For a quarter I got 8 loaves of honey wheat bread that was as fresh as you would buy in a store. The sacks had been cut and they couldnt sell them. The next time I went to get some more I was asked how much I wanted and what I was driving. They gave me a bag full that I couldnt carry for a buck All fresh not stale or moldy. We have some happy ducks. The muskrats are getting chubby also!

Troutinator,
I was hoping someone would notice. Why do you suppose they call it "higher education?"

My duck decoys will look a lot like loafs of Wonder bread this year. I know what those U or O guys spend most of their money on... and it aint food OR beer. HIGHER education is correct.
