Need Prayer for My Daughter - Broken Bone
I love snow.
Well, I couldn't make it to work yesterday, so we took our kids to a friend's house sledding. They have a great sledding hill in Jefferson.
Well, two of my daughter's collided, and my youngest, Melissa age 11, broke her collar bone in half. We had to take her to the hospital, as we weren't sure if it was her neck also.
She's ok now, with a brace and sling, but they can't put a cast on it. She's in pain, but says, it's not as bad as some headaches she has had.
Please pray that she will recover soon, and not reinjure it. Pray for me, this was the first major injury of my kids, and it was harder than you can realize.
Thank you,
Steve Preston

Re: Need Prayer for My Daughter - Broken Bone
Absolutely!
They say that if you put a cast on a broken collarbone it takes about a month and a half to heal. If you don't cast it, it will only take about six weeks. (Learned that at EMT school)
But it's always hard to have them hurt. Sure glad it wasn't her neck or a more serious injury. Maybe she was already being watched over.

You bet Steve. Sure hurts us dads to see our young'ns hurt like that. DArn near drives ya crazy until you know exactly what is wrong.
BTW I hear kids really dig ice cream when they are hurting in any way shape or form. God Bless Ya Both!

Re: Need Prayer for My Daughter - Broken Bone
Thank you for all your prayers!
Her broken collar bone has pulled into place, and now it's the slow process of healing the bones back together.
Melissa says the pain is almost gone. She did not use any pain medication as prescribed. She didn't want to fill the prescription. She toughed it out.
The Lord is good!
