Default Stedfast

The hardest part of my christian walk is reamaing stedfast in the Lord. I so much want that spirtiual maturity where it is not such a struggle. I seem to really have my christian walk going strong and then I will really falter! It is a huge struggle for me and I continually have to work at it! Any tips on keeping stedfast out there?

We live in a world that though was created by God it has fallen and gone its own way. Consequently, when we choose to live His way we choose to live a life that is going to be a struggle. It is not going to be easy.
But a couple of things can make it easier to understand and deal with.
First, if you are trying to walk without His help you have failed before taking that first step.Remember he wants to be in control.
Second, Remember IJohn1:9 that was written for us- the sinner. The sinner that wants to make it right with God !! Fall down but get up remember by His grace you can ask forgiveness.
Third,David asked in Psalm 119:9 " How can a young man keep his way pure?" He answered " By living according to your word." Our exposure to scripture helps us know His will and helps us work out that will. If you are not involved in a daily time reading His word(even for 5 minutes)get to it! How about some bible meditation and memory? " I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Ps119:11
Fourth, You asked and that is part of what this one is about. Do you belong to a group of Christians you can share this with(prayer group, bible study group, discipleship group etc)? What is really important: are you friends with another Christian that will pray for you and can hold you accountable? Is there any Christian that you admire for his walk, and you would want to be your mentor? Consider asking them! We need each other " As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." proverbs 27:17
Well, look at that I said a couple of things and gave you four general areas to look at.You think I was an expert and real mature. I will let God determine my maturity, but like you I know I need improvement. And experience and good teaching gives me the confiidence to pass this on to you.Remember His walk,His power,His Word, His Forgiveness, His Grace, His Body.
" I can do all things through Him who strengthens me".Phil 4;13

WYEAST,,, I would venture to say WE ALL have the same problem at times. I find that going to church and fellowshiping with other christians, prayer , confession ( 1 st John 1:9 ), and reading the word does wonders for me.--I will pray for you that you will be stedfast in the Lord.-----DAB

Thanks for the advice and caring words.
I do belong to a church but do not go to a group. My schedule is such that I work evenings. A mentor would be a great way to go and will inquire at my church. Thanks again.
