Wife has Cancer
My wife found two lumps in her breast recently. We scheduled a Dr. appointment right away and was finally seen Thursday and Friday. They say it is 99% for sure cancer. The biopse and surgeon meeting are tomorrow at 1pm. There is a chance it is not cancer. We are praying and hoping it is not. We are both scarred out of our minds!!!
She had a clear and clean mamogram last June. These suckers grew fast and are large so it might be the bad kind. We hope not!
Any prayers that can come my wife way would greatly appreciated. Her name is Kim Bronson and I am Alan
Thank You all!!!

Re: Wife has Cancer
My prayers go out to you, your wife, and family. Hopefully it won't turn out to be cancer, but God forebid it does, please keep in mind that there are many survivors out there that can attest to the fact that this terrible disease can be beaten. I speak as one, having gone through bouts with cancer twice; and I have several friends who are also giving Thanks for their success and good health.

Re: Wife has Cancer
We spent another day at the doctors office and the bomb was dropped on us. They confirmed it is cancer and she has probably had it for several years. This cancer is not seen with mamogrmas until it gets lager, that is very scarry. They think we still found in time. Surgery is being scheduled and will no when later this week. The doctor cant give definote answers about the cancer or complete extent until they can get in there and look around and test the surrounding tissue.
The upside is that they feel this cancer is the kind that 80% of women get and they are very familiar with it and it is treatable. once they have it we will know more. like how much radiation therapy and chemotherapy will be needed. Most importantly we will know the prognosis. Thank you all for your prayers. They have helped!!!!! Even though she has cancer the news could have been a lot worse. like it is the incurable kind or something. I will keep putting updates.
Thanks again for the support and your prayers!!!!

Re: Wife has Cancer
I will pray for you and your wife and family.
My sister in law was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago, and has been cancer free since her treatment.
Mind you, the treatment, and the overall experience is a tough road, and you will need prayers, but with lots of prayers behind you, it will make your road easier.
I will keep you in my prayers, daily.
Try to let go, and let God. I know it's not easy and I struggle with this all of the time, but we are here for you.

Re: Wife has Cancer
Screamn'Eagle
It is times as these that can shake the very foundation in which we built our life and put our trust in. As you have made christ the corner stone of your foundation in your lives, their is nothing in heaven or upon the earth that can destroy it. My prayers are for your wife, you, and your family.
Your faith will be tested and fear my grip your thoughts, but if you can remember that his merceys are NEW everyday and that his love endures forever, all things are possible in Christ.
Here is some scripture that i hope will settle some nerves for you and your wife. May God keep you, and make his face to shine upon you.
Keep us updated. ABIC Kim
Its from Psalm 43.
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.
Psa 34:2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [thereof], and be glad.
Psa 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psa 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psa 34:5 They looked unto him[God], and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Psa 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard [him], and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psa 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Psa 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him.
Psa 34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for [there is] no want to them that fear him.
Psa 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good [thing].
Psa 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Psa 34:12 What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good?
Psa 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psa 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Psa 34:15 The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry.
Psa 34:16 The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Psa 34:17 [The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psa 34:18 The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psa 34:19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Psa 34:20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Psa 34:21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
Psa 34:22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Re: Wife has Cancer
Well the first surgery went well. The lymph node test was clean indicating that the cancer had not spread. We were also given some other bad news, they found types of cancer in the breast. This is abnormal. So it puts her in high risk category according to the doctor. They say she is at high risk for having it in the other breast now. So we have been meeting with doctors and will meet with the cancer doctor next week to try and determine our course of action. It looks like we will be going through radiation and chemotherapy. The other possiblity is a double mastectomy. We are trying to get all of the info. we can so we can make a well informed descion that will be right for us. We are thank full that it has not spread yet!!! She is having more tests and surgery again on the 15th. So thanks agian for all of your prayers for my wife. Please keep us in them in the future and I will update again later.
Thanks!!!

Re: Wife has Cancer
I'm starting to hate cancer. We lost a co-worker last spring to cancer. By the time they found it, it was too late (doctors messed up, thought it was a joint problem for TWO YEARS). I lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer. I have several customers who are dealing with cancer. One just got out of the nursing home, getting healthy enough to go through chemo if that's what they need to do. His wife is in our restaurant every day, keeping us updated. We have a co-worker who was recently diagnosed with the bad kind of breast cancer, and will have a double mastectomy next week. They said it's her only real hope given the kind of cancer it is, best odds of survival which is what she and her husband are going for. You and your wife are still in our prayers.
May God smile upon you, and bless you all the days of your life. May he keep the hand of cancer far from you, removing it from your wife and ensuring a long life of love and happiness.

Re: Wife has Cancer
YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE IN OUR PRAYERS. The receptionist in our office was diagnosed with breast cancer 18 monthes ago, the diagnosis was disheartening. But I am very glad to say after treatment she has no sign of cancer. She said the power of prayer and a positive attitude made the difference for her.

Re: Wife has Cancer
This is my husband's login, but after reading this posting (for some reason I visited this site for the first time today) I wanted to speak up and encourage you.
I went through breast cancer treatments this past summer and understand the whirlwind you are experiencing right now. The best advice I got from anyone came from my surgeon. He told me that everyone under the sun would want to tell me their stories about suffering with cancer--either something they had personally experienced or things they had heard about other people close and distant.
He kindly looked me straight in the eyes and said, "This is your own story, and has nothing to do with what has happened to anyone else. You are unique, and what happens in the course of your treatment and recovery will be different from anyone else. So be courageous and write your own story the way you want it to be."
I chose to do exactly that, including taking control of the information that other people knew about what was going on. If I knew for certain a person had my best interests at heart and would pray diligently for me, then that person was included in my inner circle. If casual acquaintances pressed me for details I did not feel comfortable discussing with them, I simply refused to tell them.
And that is the great thing about cancer. (If you can believe it. It's true!) Having cancer gives you permission to take care of yourself first, regardless of what everyone else thinks they need from you.
So look inside your heart, do a lot of research, spend time praying about how you want to structure your treatment and recovery, then gather your true friends about you and surge forward.
There will be moments of great loneliness. Much like our Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane, times will come when you feel completely alone in your struggle. But do not fear. The Lord is always nearby and will take your hand the moment you reach out for Him.
I have prayed that He will gently carry you both through this experience, and that you will emerge as survivors, completely amazed at the grace you have been given.
JK

Re: Wife has Cancer
I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in may.Had the tumor removed with very little esophagus left and also lost one fourth of my stomach.Prior to the surgery had six weeks of chemo/radiation.Was about 275 prior to all this happening. My lowest weight was around 180.As of this date Im about 220.Ive been fishing several times on the coastal rivers and stay very active.I am a survivor today due to my faith in The Lord and all those that prayed for my recovery.I pray for you and family that you get closer to God and just ask him to be there for you and he will.Im seeking eternal life with GOD.God guided the surgeons and Dr through this.I almost died three times on the surgery table.Today I am here as a testimony to others that we all need Jesus in our life.If you ask for his forgivness he will forgive you.He gave his only Son for our salvation. The chosen are few and the road to salvation is very narrow.Keep us posted .My church will pray for good things to come.A survivor.Silently steelheading
