That couldn't have been a better way to end the 06' Tuna Season. Thanks for all the lessons this year and all the support that was turned into good tuna practice. It was fun to blood my boat this year but I must say it is just as fun to blood the cat with big pigs. We do need to get a Thresher rig so next time we can have a huge fish jumping in the spread.

thanks again for the live bait show and catch all that fun and not even in the dog house. who would have thought.

It truly was a great day out there on Saturday. We had a few frustrating breakoffs as well, but when you've got 4 pigs on at once, that's fishing!

Pleasure meeting you at the fuel dock while trying to jig bait. Kudos for sharing your bait with the Minaki...

Great catch and pics Bernie. Did you guys see the sunfish jumping? We pulled up on a school of dinner plate size jumping like crazy, never seen any jump before. We did have a bunch of blue sharks in the area, maybe that gave them some incentive to get out of the water.

so finished up last night about 10 pm with the Vacusealer and the tuna load.

8 fish = about 30 gallons of meat. that works out to nearly 50% more meat on 8 fish compared to my last haul of 12 fish. can you say HOG Quest

thanks bernie

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to see a sunfish jump. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but then I see that others saw the same thing. Weird.

Somehow I just never pictured them as "yumpers."

Yep, did that many years ago. 2 Garage freezers = 2 times the fish, deer, elk, ducks, geese...

Bernie at the helm, looking for more jumpers, to make even a bigger smile.

Cool Cat Cockpit

Wish I had taken more photos, but the fishing was TOO HOT.

Pops arms were hurting from the first whopper to the last. All really nice sized abies.

Treb was always willing to drop his pole to gaff a fish.

One time we had a quad hook up, and had to dance around each other to the untangle the lines. The fish went every where and sometimes loose.

Bernie did a great job: keeping us on the bait so we had enough; deciding where to find fish (32 miles out); when to fish; when to move; and more.

Both in-deck fish boxes were filled to the brim, along with two large fish bags with abies and ice.

Catch of the Day.

Thanks again Bernie, for the invite. Never dreamed of a chance to go on the Cool Cat the first Season.

Man the seas in those pics look nice.

Great job guys.

Thanks again Bernie for the trip last week, I still tell the entire story to anyone that will listen. I am now figuring out how many consecutive days I need to work this winter to be able to upgrade to a tuna boat. Good luck if you make it out this weekend.
