Default Me..A father?

My wife and I are expecting our first,A boy!I ca't wait till he is here december 18th is the due date.My biggest worry is how good of an example will I be for him.Often I become lazy and don't take the time to seek God first in my life and don't include him in it either.I want so much for my son to know and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. How do some of you fathers do it,I would hate for my son to see me as anything other than a Good servant.I ask for your Prayers in this matter.Thankyou.

Greg

My birthday is near your wifes's due date. Each time I think about my upcoming birthday I will think and pray of you, your wife, and the safe delivery of your son. Not being a father I am not going to give you any sound advice from experince. But I know your heart is right and that is 90% of it, just don't become overwhelmed with the need to be this great example to your son. He will see your humaness, but he will also see where your heart is; and as he grows will realize who you really are.

I'll pray. The Lord is talking to you now about all this. Don't wait to make the changes you need to make. Raising kids is an awesome responsibility...and an awesome joy!

I will pray for you. I pray that your boy will be as great a joy to you as my two girls are to me.

First of all Greg Congrats!! I know you've been wanting children for awhile now so this is going to be a very exciting time in your life. Second, December 20th would be an even greater day since I have some personal attachment to that day. Third, the Lord has a way of softening and changing our hearts. Pray for your family and yourself that God will guide you in ALL that you do.

God has given you one of the greatest gifts available in this world. The gift of a child. Do your best to be an example of a Godly man. Sure can be difficult at times and I can attest to that bro. But teach him in the way of the Lord, show him love, compassion and humility.

Fouth, you're gonna have a fishing buddy in just a couple of years. Talk about exciting!!!!!!

When a Christian man faces the responsiblity God has entrusted to him as a father it's a pretty daunting thing, but relax and don't get too overwhelmed. There's no point to even thinking you can be perfect... the most important thing you can give him is your time. Lots of guys go off hunting or fishing or working all the time and never spend the time to really know their kids, and more important, for their kids to know them. Let him see how your relationship with the Lord is an important part of your life and how God helps you be a better father and husband. Look for everyday things and situations that can turn into real-life object lessons and opportunities to teach him the right way, through ups and downs. My kids have been the source of enormous joy in my life, and it's also the toughest job I've ever had! But when you think about how much you love your kids, and then realize God loves you just as much, you won't mind the hard work!
