Default Giving Thanks

There are so many things times I see people concerned or frustrated or unsatisfied about something in their life or the events around them. But for this holiday, I am focusing on the blessings for which I am thankful. The bountiful land that we live in, my small family and my generous friends. And I am practicing forgiveness, trying to understand that each of us does our best in all we undertake and that I seldom know all the details and conditions that might permit me to fairly judge another's accomplishments. So instead, I try to appreciate what others do and appreciate the things I have ... as I sit here in a warm home, with a full belly, listening to a happy child playing with her grandmother. Indeed, this is a wonderful time for Thanksgiving!

Got an e-mail this morning from a soldier in Iraq. He said "Here in the desert of Iraq, I am thankful for family and friends, but most thankful that I am an American." Says it all doesn't it? We need to continually thank God for what we have: FREEDOM.

I don't get it, either.
I am so thankful for things around me!

Three chum salmon just swam up to my feet out on the river! That was so exciting! A gift from God!

I don't understand how today, on all days, people are being totally rude and mean on the fishing boards.

I am thankful that I can step back, today, leave the computer, and enjoy my family.

I'll deal with all of the other stuff, later.

Today, I am focusing on Thanking my Heavenly Father for what I have!

Jen

I am thankful for God the creator for making all things possible and for sending His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and shed his blood for me to cover my sins and giving the gift of eternal life. Without God life would not be the way it is today!

Have a Great Thanksgiving!
