Extending our stay in China
As many know I am in China on assignment.. Been here now for 2 years. We so far are having a lot of fun, the extra help around the house makes life easy for my wife and I benefit too. The only downsides are missing my sports, and the commute.
As the dust settles from my company's reorgs and downsizing I have been asked to stay longer... maybe 3 more years..
For now we have said yes.. so the next phase of our journey is underway... might be time to sell the toys that are in storeage..

Was it you who posted that Chinese people love eating Shad, and pay big money to do so?

Re: Extending our stay in China
I have a friend who just returned from Shanghai and Bejing, he was going to school there I believe, through Portland State or at least he goes to the school here, Maybe he is recruiting folks in China to come over and go to school here in Portland. Not sure the exact details of what he was doing, but he has been visiting for the past three years from june to september, he really enjoys it and plans on going and visiting as long as he can. It's really kinda interesting to hear the differences in our cultures regarding certain aspects of the day to day life there.
Have fun.

Gus Gus Gus,
The Green tea and marfar chicken must have gone to your head. Staying 3 more years, considering selling the toys.
Think we might need an intervention here.........
Got a nice shinny buck in the cooler that made my bobber go submarine today...... You need some therapy. I'll meet you in tillamook on Thursday.

Re: Extending our stay in China
doh... yes,, need therapy.. also want the money.. I desperately need some bobber action. the local carp are entertaining but there is a limit to that.
One key thing I get out of being here... a shinny new sled of my choice, and ..and ..and..

Re: Extending our stay in China
I've enjoyed your posts from China. Its a big decision to stay for another 3 years. Personally, I think this a great thing for you and your family. Your children will benefit from the continued exposure to another culture. That will help make them better citizens of our small world.

Did you catch the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, Gus?
What a race!
Best of luck to you wherever you wind up.

Gosh Gus... 3 more years? Might be worth it to retain the job. Things are pretty ugly 'round these parts these days.
