DA meeting regrets--OT: family loss
Guys--change of plans for me. I was planning on attending the DA meeting on Friday, but we've had a family tragedy.
I was looking forward to meeting you guys--hopefully at the next one. When you're out there--please watch for cyclists. My cousin was killed today riding to work. Here's the article from Kiro TV.com. I'd just ask for prayers for Susanne Scaringi and her family.
SEATTLE -- A woman riding her bicycle was critically injured when she collided with a van in West Seattle on Wednesday morning, police said.
She was taken to a hospital with what a Seattle police spokesman called "life-threatening" injuries.
Video: Accident Leaves Cyclist Injured
The 26-year-old woman was on her bike at 35th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Graham Street when she collided with the van as it turned the corner at about 7:45 a.m. She hit the vehicle head-on at a "high rate of speed," police said.
Video from Chopper 7 showed the bicycle and a bike helmet lying in the intersection as police investigated.
Police shut down the northbound lanes of 35th Avenue Southwest in the area. The lanes were expected to be closed until about 11 a.m., police said.

Re: DA meeting regrets--OT: family loss
Thanks guys--last night was a tough one. We didn't sleep. What do you say to an uncle who is like a father to you, when he--the rock of the family--is crumpled, sobbing at your feet? We are in for a tough stretch today and the coming days, so thank you for your thoughts and prayers.--Brian

Re: DA meeting regrets--OT: family loss
Very sorry as well. I run and bike a bit and know how vehicles do not pay close attention to people on the roads.
My condolences to your family

Re: DA meeting regrets--OT: family loss
I wish I knew what to say. You have my condolences, and don't worry about what you're missing. Hobbies are, of course, secondary. No matter how fun and addicting they are.
