Default Ferrule rod knock? ticking sound...

I just got a new Sage rod 2 piece spinning, while doing the standard rod action feel (slight gentle whipping action) test I hear a slight tick coming from the ferrule.

Do I need to worry? what does the rod knock sound mean about the ferrule or blank itself, or is it the finish?

In the past I've had an explanation from one of the Lamiglas reps at the factory calling it "rod knock" and bring it back for a new one...only to find 70% of that line of rods have this ticking sound..

I know the fly rod guru's can appreciate a quality rod and critique as I do...

Help any explanations? should I ship the rod back for an exchange?

Any other experiences like mine with Sage blanks..
