Default Quick connect on fuel line ?

My yami t8 was dying on me about every 20 min or so last trip out, noticed the fuel ball was full of air. The quick connect fitting to the main tank was leaking (mounted on the transom) is this common, should I pick up an extra? Only 10$ Got the t8 running as I type, It's been 40 min now and there's no leak (air) so I'm sure that was the problem!

Sometimes the only problem is with the O-ring inside the fuel fitting.
Visually inspect it for cracking or other damage or possibly missing. The O-ring can be replaced.

I've had the same problem with quick connect fittings on older Mercury's and Evinrudes with portable gas tanks. The O-ring doesn't seal anymore and the fuel system loses prime. You can limp back by pumping the primer bulb constantly, but you also leak fuel. You've probably solved your problem.

Through a spare bulb in the boat too. They will go bad when you least expect it.Your hose will lose prime and you have to pump it every few seconds to keep gas flowing.

The quick connect I have looks like an air hose fitting and the O ring looked good, Yea I think I solved the issue and will pick up an extra and a fuel line w/bulb and stash it away from the sun.
