I had heard that there were a few salmon down South. Crossed the Bar @ 8:45 and headed out. There were some birds and bait just past the Red can. Trolled around for 15 minutes no results and headed South. Got down to Seal Rock in 200' and trolled South, lots of trollers inside and out of me. Good amount of bird actvity and bait marks. Released 2 coho out there and Netscape told me he was getting some fish in shallower. I headed in and stopped on some crahing birds and picked up a 21" chinook and put it back. Had a few drive bys and another one 18" chinook. The birds stopped feeding and I started to head back and picked up another one 23" and put that one back. I was just about to pick up and got another bite. This one just popped the release and started to shake its head. I put some pressure on it and it went for the bottom. Got some line back and it headed for the surface, wallowed out there and took off across the water like a torpedo. I got it turned around and it took off across the surface the other way and I finally got a good look at it. Nice fish. I got it coming to the boat and got the net ready. It took a few more short runs and thrashed around at the surface. It finally gave me a good shot and in the net it went. No deck shrinkage. 39" nose to fork and 14" at the thickest part #34 boat record. Got everything put away and headed home. I could hear a few reports from the Tuna fleet. Sounded like it was a little slow. Netscape had 3 when I left him. Fish was on a watermelon Apex at 75'in 160'. Thanks for the tip Skip.

I caught the other fish from 25'-60' on the Spectra.
