Smoking problem?
I think a friend has a smoking problem. He tells me he's ok with it. What do you think? This car is 3 months old!

Re: Smoking problem?
Yup! YUK! I think there's a problem there. Like a fire hazard to begin with, but there's a reality problem as well. Get 'em a bucket!

Re: Smoking problem?
He doesn't have a smoking problem, he's got a cleaning problem. I can only imagine what his shower/toilet/kitchen sink/fish cooler/garage looks like.

Re: Smoking problem?
Similar problem with my wife just cost me about $5000.
I broke he from using the ashtray in the car because I can't stand it. So she uses a pop can about 1/3 full of water. While trying to stuff a butt in the small hole 2 weeks ago, she managed to drive in the roadside ditch and total the car. Just lucky it was a ditch and not another car or some kid on a bike. I am hoping the seatbelt damage and my delivery of mental damage, is enough reminder to convince her to quit. She had a pretty nice Explorer, now she has a replacment trashy Explorer. Total bill is right around $5k out of pocket since we only carry liability on her car. Anyone need some parts off a 94 Explorer???

Re: Smoking problem?
send the bill to phillip morris.
i smoked for almost 4years (pack a day). it seemed to be the norm for const. workers like me. i was able to quit successfully the 3rd time (after patches, gum, and prices going to 5bucks a pack) when i relocated to alaska. i used to buy cartons out on base to save a few bones. but on a job site the younger guys knew i had a carton in my truck and would bum rather than go to the store themselves. so figure out of a carton i was getting maybe 4 or 5 packs and lots of "ill pay you back laters." the other thing that made me quit...no not hypnosis,,, it was having to stand outside to smoke at 40 below in the winter. you gotta really want that habit to continue. scott

Mike, is this who I think it is?
Amp - I thought the same thing too. I went to his house one day and expected to see a weed infested dead lawn with a burned matress laying in it. But I was shocked to see that he had a perfectly manicured, weed free lawn with hanging flowers, a newly painted white picket fence and a flag flying on a flag pole. It was the nicest home on the block. I didn't see the shower, toilet, sink or cooler, but his garage is like a showroom. I am amazed how differently he treats his car compared to his house. He is also one of those guys that never gets sick and will probably defy all odds and live to be 100.

"Mike, is this who I think it is?"
Yes. I think that the car is the only thing neglected. Even the flag pole in his front yard is clean and shiny.
