Default Looking for a Church

Well, I recently graduated from High School so I am no longer apart of the college youth group. The problem is that my church does not have an extremely strong college group, so I have decided to start the hunt for a new Church. I was wondering if any of you Ifishers go to a Church in the Portland/vancouver area that has a strong college group that I could get involved in.

Check out City Bible Church in Portland. It's a large church but a good one!

though I don't attend there I hear Great Portland Bible has good size one. I might recommend calling Multnomah School of the Bible or Western Seminary and tell therm of your need they could point you towards several churches.

Both churches are good chueches. I will throw another one in- New Heights Baptist. They have an awesome men's ministry, they used to heva a sports ministry and had special guys that did hunting and fishing stuff. They are a good size church and also should have a good college aged group.

Creekside Bible Church in Wilsonville is not a large church, but has a dynamite youth and college age group. Brandon Reynolds is the youth pastor and a great guy.

A little ways from the 'couv, but we have members that live there and drive down.

Check out Rolling Hills in West Linn right on
I-205 and Stafford Road.
Friends tell me they have the best youth groups in the area. Their kids are high school and college age.

Hey RT, here are some good choices:

Beaverton Christian Church (it's actually where I go) the college group has really taken off. We are a large church of around 4K but very good teaching and culture:

Beaverton Christian church

Crossroads Community, a large church in Vancouver. Pastor Bill Ritchie is an awesome guy!

Crossroads Community church

East Hills Foursquare is also a large church (8-9K)with awesome groups and it's in Gresham

East Hills

Here is a link for Greater Portland which was mentioned.

New Beginnings is a large church with a diverse congregation

I hope this helps you find your church home. If you would like more info please feel free to email me, kteasdale@comcast.net

There is a church I went to a few times....off 26 and Cornell I think. Just North of 26...there is a singles group that meets there with LOTS of recent college grads and current students in the group. Wish I could remember the name of it. People go to this group from all over Portland...ask around, someone will know if. I might recognize the name if I heard of it.

It's worth your time to check out New Heights in Vancouver. www.newheights.org

Matt, the pastor, is also a prof at a Portland seminary I graduated from and has his stuff together.

I feel like wandering into Portland for some good praise. Seems hard to find in this neck of the woods.

Good to see you are around, FM2!

i also would recommend New Heights. They are a very good group, about 90% of the people that I work with go there too.

Looks like you already have ton of choices but Sunnyside Foursquare has a good one. It's at 132nd in Sunnyside Rd. Not far from I205.

RT.

My friend and neighbor is the college and young adult pastor of our church in Gaston,OR(Wapato Valley Church). Our church services are Saturday nights in Gaston OR but the "West End"(college ministry) actually has a service every Sunday morning in the American Legion Hall in Forest Grove at 9:30 am. They have it there because its right across the street from Pacific University. They even have a free breakfast just before the service.Incredible worship and a great message every week!!! Email me if you want any more info.
