Default handline help??

Been out a few times and have done pretty darn good thanks to everyones help here!!!! So thank you so much fellow Dogs. My question is are you using divers on your hand lines? I've been trying to use #4 salty dogs but they just keep triping from the troll speed and don't seem to be working very good. What kind of divers do you use if you don't mind me asking. Tight lines and hope to put some names to faces at a TA meeting sometime soon.

I use the big orange Yozuri diver boards sold at Englund Marine in Newport. I use about 18-20 ft. of blue tuna cord with a rubber snubber from the boat to the diver and then I have a STRONG snap swivel on the diver and I change up different clones with 400# leader. The leader i run is about 6'. I also have a set that is about twice that long with no diver board they lay up closer to the surface.

The Yozuri diver boards, don't trip they are pulled down by the current and when a fish hooks up it puuls down and the back of the diver and steers it right to the top.

Good Luck!

I am no expert, but have seen a lot of tuna on the hand lines.
I have been out with fellow "Dog" Eagle Cap on his new North River a few times this season. He does not use anything but clones on 40' and 60' lines. No diver, no tangles and lots of action!!

Ditto to Yozuri boards, haven't tangled yet. If you see the diver behing the boat on a plane...FISH ON!

Thanks for the help guy's!! I'll pick up a few boards when I get a chance. Can't believe all the great info you all share here. Nice to be a part of such a great group of people. I got out only three times due to the bad noaa reports but got fish everytime. It was successful because of all the generous help and the ability to search the tips on this site. Now I'm totally addicted to Tuna!! See you all out there and be safe!
