Default Heddon Tadpolly lures

I had heard a rumor that these lures were being discontinued by Heddon. I emailed and received a response back from Heddon and they confirmed the rumor.

Don't know the reason.

It's my favorite lure for fishing on the Deschutes River. Time to go on a buying spree.

An employee at Sportsmans wearhouse said that Heddon sold the mold to a local company in the NW who will start to sell them under a different name. Not sure of the Manufacturer though

Wouldn't that just stink if a local tackle manufacturer that already makes plugs that used to be made storm starts making my favorite color tadpollys too...buy, buy paycheck!

I have had great luck with them also in shallow water. How do most of you run the hooks? On my wiggle warts I use a bead chain off the belly and take off the back hook off and very seldom does a fish come undone. I am thinking of running a treble off two split rings on the back and take the front hook off to increase catch percentage.

Last I heard Heddon had totally discontinued manufacturing with no plans to restart.

Lots of them still available on Ebay....get em while you can. If Brad's takes them over like rumor says, who knows if they'll fish the same.

Chinese made Wiggle Warts currently made are far inferior to the older ones made before Rapala bought them.

Get the colors in tads that you want now because there's no guarantee you'll get them again if someone else takes over production.

Are the Tadpollies now made in China? Are they marked so you can tell? I'm looking to add to the herd...

They are still made in the oversea's factory (not sure where) exclusively for a nationwide distributor called Big Rock Sports, luckily they have a big presence here in the NW so we have access to them.

Seems like there's only 5-6 colors now and that's it. They used to have a ton of different colors! If anyone has the old cop car I'd be happy to put down some $$!!!

I have several tads in desirable colors that I would trade for some clear pink or nail polish pink Okies. Most are clatter but some are silent. Most are new but some are used. Send me a PM if interested.

I had a hard time making the jump to the Lindy River Rocker, but I can tell you they kick butt on the Deschutes. Also- this picture is text book how not to handle a nate- the front hook of the lure was in in my boot laces two seconds prior. It survived and was still feisty.

Would not be surprised if Br...s now has the mold, as he lost his mfg. in China for the Wiggler.... He vanished. No, Big Rock does not own the mold, they are strictly Wholesale and do not mfg anything. And they were not exclusive. Heddon sells/sold to anyone with $.
With that being said, if you see one buy it. Recall the lip arrangement issue with Warts be sourced offshore and the paint issue with Br...s.
Br..s is a knock off expert, and you know what you get with that type of situation.

The only failure from brads is the killer fish... everything else is better than the original.
Hope they make a brads tad and call it tadpole
