Default Flatwater Tuna Video

Ok so this video is from last sunday! There is very little of the ****** boat that tried to intimadate us. Just not good video to use there. But the fishing was great. I hope you enjoy it!

Nice video Tracker. The water looked like Hawaii except the clothing didn't quite fit. Here's hoping for a few more oil slick days like that one!

Well I have had a lot of very good comments since I have been doing these videos. Some like the music, some like other stuff but what you have just said is what I endeavor to do! I want you to be there with us. I want you to see what we do, to feel what we do. I am not hiding out there. I show you how it is.It may not be perfect but it is what it is and we have fun doing it. I would not have been out there without that desire with the swollen and painful leg like I was unless it was true. With all the bad weather trips this year it has been very hard to do as much videoing as I would liked. The video just is too jumpy. But now and again we get lucky and God smiles on us! Thank you very much!

Nice day on Lake Pacific. Love days like that. Seeing the Mola's were pretty cool.

Was wondering if you troll using the spin casting reel?

Although hard to judge looking at it via camera the ****** boat actually looked closer than 200 yards imo. That's after you zoomed in and brought it back out.

Must admit had to winch everytime a fish was gaffed. Guys I fish with are merciless with the insults (semi good natured) when you don't get head shots.

Yea boat could have been closer. In a few seconds more I would have had to get up and running to not be run down.

We were trolling the coffee grinder because it had mono. Would not have used it if we had enough convention reels with mono. Have them there for casting!

You heard me say it on the video! I dont care what anybody says, or how much they laugh at or make fun of me, we will gaff on my boat as long as I own it. For the meer ounces we may lose to the gaff I will have fish in the boat that otherwise would have gotten away waiting for the perfect gaff. I have never been one to be worried about what I wore to school. I did not care in the least what others thought about my clothes. I care not in the least what others think about gaffing. You have to know there will always be people that think they are better than you and want to put you down. Often I think they fear you in some way. Not sure why! To put videos like this up you better be pretty sure about yourself and have a thick skin. I enjoy the heck out of what I do out there and other than maybe one for sure, I have never had any complaints. Perhaps that one should build up his own self esteem before trying to take down someoneleses. Now this was not said at you Backlash, but just as an answer to your question. Also I just got done watching a show on flight 93 and am a bit angry right now!

Tracker - cool video!!! I can't wait for my first flat-water TUNA! trip - hopefully on the 23rd. Got a question for ya, though - in the video, it looked like you were trolling those Tuna Bites at a pretty good clip. How fast were you going?

Thanks,

CrF

p.s. - justkeepgaffing!

Some great shots-Thanks for sharing.

If a person wants Gaff Shots that are more perfct they have to start by holding the Gaff hook down and going for the shoulder.

Or-just get the thing in the boat and don't worry.

On my boat I go at 1600 rpms. That equates to 4 to 5.5 mph over ground by the GPS! Sometimes vary that but always go back to it!

I was fishing the same area as you that day. Your video is a reinforcement of what a great day and ocean it was. Great cap to the year for me.

Thanks.

I didn't hear anything on the video because my computer doesn't have any sound thanks to the Geek Squad.

Actually I didn't ask you a question about your gaffing. It was more a statement and how I get harassed if I don't get head shots. I could just hear them making comments. BTW if you weren't gaffing how else were you planning on bringing the fish in the boat? Although for smaller fish we just pull them in since our leader is pretty heavy.

Personally I thought your video was pretty cool and well done. Oh and regarding the coffee grinder you may start to see a lot of line twist from trolling. See it a lot while trolling for trout with spinning reels.

We get line twist on all the rods when trolling the Tunabites since most of the time we are tied right to the jig head. No swievel!

Ditto. We were out there and had the times of our lives doing something we had not tried before. I'm going to miss this stuff for the next 9 months. :depressed: The addiction is so very strong. I'm darn near in tears.

Tracker: Nice video, do not change!!!! I noticed the Hydromag also and figured that Mark had bought out Yozuri.

I do think you could make a Tipper Gore approved music fishing - bloddy decks video for the PETA crowd. Have you considered that the ****** boat may have been hijacked by them?....

Do any of the dogs put serious fish in the boat with Hydros?, seems like they would be ideal for center rod aft and the outside outrigger lines.

One trip last year, the hydros were all that we could get bit on. Eventually the hooks and tuning were so bad we had to punt and go with clones and such. That was before the wonderful world of Tunabites or errrr I mean last year it would have been fishtraps was openned up to me!
