URB = Up River Bright. A race of chinook salmon.

Specifically, a Columbia River fish that is spawning hundreds of miles upstream near Hanford (Hanford Reach) or upstream even further.

They remain bright in color and are considered better food fare than the "Tule" (Toolee) fish that spawn in the lower river and turn dark much quicker since they have fewer miles to travel prior to the completion of their spawning migration.

They set aside so much property on the Hanford reservation that there are numerous species that thrive in that area and few other places, as those places aren't touched by the hands of man. URBs are one of those species, and they are a very wild, and thriving, species.

Well, I have another take on "URB" come end of fall season we get all sorts of URBS here on the Lewis river. That is "Up River Browns". Keep that in mind when you see another brown fish slowly tooling up river.
