Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
I am taking my wife to Seattle in November, and wanted to stay in a Hotel Downtown. I would like something close to Pikes Place and the other shops and restaraunts downtown.
I know that I can "CitySearch" it or Google or...but I was looking more for "We stayed at _______ and really liked it..."
Thanks,
Dan

Inn at the Market.
If you want to be a hero with your wife, book here. Reasonably priced, right next to the market with incredible views and plush bedding. Really clean and yet not a big name chain.
Over the years I have stayed at many nice hotels there, but this one is really nice for the getaway feeling.
They're in Google!
Shhhhhhhh!

The Marriott on the water front. Its in walking distance of Safeco and Pikes Market. Great place to stay.

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
FOX sports puts the hub up at swanky hotels wherever he goes and while in Seattle for the Seahawks games I get to go with. We stayed here at the Hotel Monaco. It was super cute, very cool. I had never stayed at such a fun place!
Week after next when we go we are staying at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. I have checked them out and they look pretty sweet too. Very modern decor, looks very comfortable!
Spendy places, but well worth the 4 Star treatment!
I also reccomend the Benihana there as well. FUN!
(p.s. try the Fragelico Frech Toast & Andouli Sausage if you go to the Monaco!)
When I go up to the UW to see the Doc I stay in the Northgate Ramada. Very clean and reasonable. Good Luck!

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
We stayed at the Mayflower Park Hotel and really liked it. Seriously, we stay there every time we go up to Seattle. 4 blocks to Pike Street Market. The hotel adjoins the mall with the monorail station. Kaufman's Streamborn is 1 block away. The martini bar in the lobby is top rate. There are great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Macy's is across the street. Nordstrom is across the square. And, a station for the underground bus system is in the basement. They offer packages for hotel rooms and local events that are pretty good.
Negatives - Its kind of pricey and the standard rooms (classic) are small. The corner rooms (deluxe) are much larger and nicer, but they cost more.

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
Thanks so much for the responses! We are not going until November, so I will investigate all the options.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
Folks, please remember that links to commercial entities like these fine hotels are the priviledge of those who pay advertising on Ifish. Without advertisers, this place wouldn't be free to access by folks like us.
All of the hotels are easily found through the use of the Great Google.
Thanks

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
Sorry Dave, I thought that rule was only for links that would compete with an ifish sponsor. Didn't think any lodging sponsor was a realistic choice for someone wanting to be at Pikes Street Marketplace in Seattle.
But then I did further research and see that an ifish sponsor has a hotel under a different name that is in the area downtown, so shame on me (us).
Yes, the Inn at The Market can indeed be googled, or even dot commed...

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
I take my wife to Seattle quite often and stay at a couple different places. Four seasons - Get your pocketbook out but you will be pampered! Westin - Pretty reasonable and super comfy rooms. Paramount up by the convention center and across from the hyatt. Again pretty reasonable and nice. Good luck and have fun. Don't forget to eat at the Wild Ginger.

I work 1 block north of here and you couldn't get a better location than this. The Westin is right next to me so you might try them out. They'll have a way better view in towers.

Re: Favorite Downtown Seattle Hotels
I was there a few years ago and went on a tour of the underground around Pikes Market, you could find a real deal down there....no traffic or noise.
