Whitehorse Antelope Pic!

My brothers first antelope. Shot yesterday in the whitehorse unit. can't wait to taste antelope backstrap!



The pic isn't great - it is from his cell phone and he sent it to me from burns... I can't wait to get the rest of the pics from the digital camera.

We scouted the area a couple weekends back (epic trip!) and found some good pockets of antelope. He went and parked his truck right in the middle of the area where we saw them and started walking.

He caught this one bedded down napping in the bottom of a draw a couple miles from the road. made for a tough solo pack.

Shot it at about 250-300 yards. It took him a couple shots due to a pretty stiff wind. Missed on the first shots - good lesson in ballistics!

anyway, i'll post more as I get it, but this is cool. My turn is coming - i've got 9 points now! (he drew the tag with 1 point

My dad and I now have 10 points for Whitehorse. Your buddy was luckier getting the tag than getting the 'lope! My step brother did the same thing about 15 years ago. First year hunting, gets a whitehorse tag, and stumbled on a very nice buck that didn't get far.
