Storing kwikfish? How do you........
I'm one of those guys that have a ton of kwikfish. I haven't figured out a good way to store them with out getting stuck together. I've tried the hanging in a bucket set up but I always seem to knock it over. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fish Hawg-
How many can you fit in those boxes? Are they thick enough to hold K16s?

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
I also store them in clear plano boxes and under the seat. I k16's you can probably only put 8 in a box, but k15's you can put 12 in a tray and k14's allow 16 per tray. This is of course if your not doubling up.

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
Where's the best price around for those boxes? I think I might need to sell a few in order to buy the boxes.

Anyone else got some ideas?

Finnman,
Do the bucket routine but store some lead in the bucket also. Maybe even a rock or two to provide some weight to the bucket.
I like using the smaller 1.5 gallon buckets. I keep some hollow core lead in the bucket also.
Okey Dokey?

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
I second pulling the hooks. Wash them, dry them well and put them in the tacklebox trays. No tangles and you're sure your hooks are sharp every time as you can inspect them before putting them on. Wrap your bait of choice around the kwikie, and then put the hooks on. No getting thread in the hooks and it only takes a moment to hang the hooks.

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
How fishing buddy ReelTrouble and I do it-
The boxes then all go into a Plano guide model tackle box.
And this picture of what happens when you're bored on a saturday night and have all your kfish out.
Time to go fishing I think.

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
Plano makes a large tackle box #7653 that is an open chest type box that is advertised to hold 64 lures up to 7.5 inches in length. The kwikies hang in individual compartments which are adjustable in size. Also has two small storage boxes built into the outside of the lid. This baby is just what the doctor ordered for storing kwikies in one box.
Check it out. Cabelas2003 Spring Master Catalog pg 84. Priced @ $30.

Finnman..
I've got one of the Plano 7915 boxes, never been used, that I'll sell for $20. Works great for Kwikies.

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
TOC,
That is literally a work of art!!!! I love It!
I have a Plano soft bag with clear plastic cases. I think I get 12 K-14s into one box, 3 in a row. My K-16's are in a separate big bazooba plastic box.
WalMart frequently has a good deal on Shimano plastic tackle boxes.

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
I think it's pretty cool too, but can't take all the credit, I was at ReelTrouble's house so we could take a pic of our kwikfish storage for this thread- and just lay them out real nice-like. Anyway, I just helped with the artwork!

Re: Storing kwikfish? How do you........
OTC- That is way cool. Seems that your Saturday nights are about as eventful as mine. Thanks for all the ideas. I think I might just specify one box for kwikies. Taking hooks on and off seems like a pain in the rear. Now how to convince the wife I need another tackle box hmmm........
