Default There's hope for my children (one at least)...

My 9 yr old daughter just called me from home, she's staying at the house with my niece this week. She was supposed to go to a birthday skating party today at noon with a neighbor girl's family, but she walked over this morning and told her she couldn't go.

When she called me, she said, "Daddy, I feel bad for telling her I couldn't go, everyone else she invited said they couldn't go either. She's really sad, that wasn't right of me, so is it ok if I walk back down and tell her I'd really like to go?"

We'll have the discussion tonight about not committing to someone and backing out at the last minute, but right now I'm mighty proud of her for recognizing what she had done, and wanting to make it right.

Guess we're doing something right.

After you speak with your daughter will you call my 56 year old brother and have the same conversation with him? He just backed out of a guided Buoy 10 trip that I am obligated to pay for, whether or not his rear end is in the seat.

I'm not laughing because it happened to you. I understand the gas, bait, motel, etc. bills, but the way you said that just struck me as hilarious

Boy, something like that just takes your breath away, doesn't it? You've done a good job and should be very proud!

That was an important moment in her little life. She'll never forget how she felt and that'll insure it sticks with her....

Congrats Sounds like she's had some great teachers.
