Default truck body repair question

How hard is it to hammer out a dent in a tacoma crome bumper? Do I need to pull the whole underside out including the two front wheels? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, chops

If you try to hammer it out,it will probably look worse than it does now.Depending on the type of dent, and your experience at that sort of stuff.

You may be better off taking it in and having it straightened.Or you can get aftermarket bumpers pretty reasonable.

I dont know the names of the places, but I'm sure you could do either, right there in Portland.

thx hntnfsh, I was pretty handy back in college. I'm going to see what I can do then if all fails after market pieces. I just can't drive a new truck with dent.

Any others or even anyone in PDX that knows a fair shop?

Tell me the year of your truck and I will give you an estimate on an a/m replacement if the repair doesnt work. BTW We never repair chrome bumpers, always replace.

thx rock bottom, it's 2004 tacoma front right corner of chrome. Plastic looks like it needs a good wash with soap and hot water.

Rock Bottom your absolutly right. I'm so in a bind fix my truck or go tuna fishing. You know what I mean? I'm going to ask some truck guys at work to look at it since my 04 is the oldest of them all...kidding but not too far from the truth. From the replies at work I'm going to decide on the replacement. Took me two hours to pull that bad boy from first bolt to last bolt going back in. Couple of breaks to give my arm a rest. Felt like I was on American Chopper week fabricating a gas can. My doctors going to love this.
