FBR~ hot on killing salmon at Gold Beach Oregon.
I was getting a flurry of orders on my web site from Gold Beach, especially from the Indian Creek campground folks camping there and salmon fishing and in talking with some of the folks some very humorous story flowed out.
One old timer Lee Lewis using his modified FBR rigging calling it the "Green Weenie" was blasting salmon with it. He was running a FBR with 5 feet of 40# test line using a number 2 treble hooking and pinning the nose without the sleeve. He was quite excited as he had a following of anglers wanting to know how he is whacking all those salmon...... Sam Waller at Jots Resort was telling me about yesterday trip with a family. He made a star out of the youngest member of the family. Sam had run short on FBR so he had painted up a red FBR with green paint with sparkles and with a little of the red still showing. The young fellow blew away the other fishermen member by catching the only 3 salmon caught. The young fellow was elevated to star status and when the father comment on what a good angler the young man was--the older brother chimed in its about time he can do something well. LOL
Well as all good story most come to a end because of its activity someone stepped on it breaking both wings off of it.

Today Bob Franko of Half Moon Bay Coastside fishing club who is the founder of the club and the person that was telling me the story that a commercial fisherman came by his boat at the dock and told him this story. He pinned a hotdog in the FBR and caught a couple of salmon trolling a hotdog FBR. Just love these stories. LOL Anyway these story made my day and I had to share with you. I just love trolling the estuary at Gold Beach and I'm anxious to get back up there and bust some salmon myself.
