Helena Montana?

Anyone here ever live in the Helena area? I'm considering a job offer there. I would appreciate any feedback.

I lived in Harlowton MT when i was growing up. It's about 110-130 miles east of Helena.

If you like to fly fish for trout and hunt deer and elk....you will be in heaven. The only thing i truly didn't like was the below zero weather in the winter time.

Not sure about Helena area, but in Harlowton....by far the biggest downfall was the WIND. It seemed like it never stopped blowing. Typically above 15mph everyday.

I checked the average wind speed after your coment, it looks like Helena is about the same as Portland. A little farther east and it looks like it can be pretty windy.

I don't know if the link will work but just get on koin's website and look for census information. A big part of our not moving was what I found out about the weather. We were willing to brave the cold in the winter, but when I saw the summer rain fall and temperatures, Not a chance. At least in Helena you have great summer weather after the cold winters.

Information Technology with the state. The overall statewide unemployement rate seems pretty low compared with Oregon.
