Default Wind Waves/Swell Heights -Prior Post

Need some help, tried to find a previous post, want to say it was within last six months where the thread discussed the combined sea hieghts and parameters from safety. There was an equation using length of boat and freeboard to determine height of seas one should consider ...
Trying to help a newcomer get acclimated to make decisions and would apprecate some evidence to some of my thinking.

(I have an 18' Striper with 3' freeboard, if the seas are greater six feet combined and closer than eight seconds, that's about my max tolerance)

For waves at the bar, the CG uses boat length divided by ten plus the freeboard.
