Georga Boots -- mine leak
I was so thrilled with the comfortable fit of my Georgia boots, I bought another pair of a slightly different model--equally comfortable.
come rainy season, I find both pair of "goretex boots" leak badly.
Because they didn't see water early on, the store warranty is out of the question, even though one pair is almost new.
I have Emailed this information to Georgia Boots. I will let y'all know as soon as I find out how Georgia Boots handles something like this. It just may be the last pair I'll ever buy.

I can say this they make one heck of a work boot. But I don't work outside in the rain but they wear like iron.

Re: Georga Boots -- mine leak
I like Rocky Boots ...........had many pairs that still dont leak after many years of use. Also Danner Boots are great.

Re: Georga Boots -- mine leak
Pretty much every pair of my gore-tex boots leak. Needless to say, I'm not a big believer in goretex. I don't take them back, just make note of the brand and look elsewhere in the future. I have better things to do than return boots only to get another pair that may or may not leak.
But, if you found a pair of boots that really works for you, I wouldn't let a little leak stop you. If they are leather, sno-seal should make them more waterproof. Otherwise, there's always Xtra-Tuffs

Re: Georga Boots -- mine leak
Here is the only boot I have used that doesn't take on water.

Like cwh said there's always Xtra-Tuffs.
I wear them so much at work that to hunt steep slopes doesn't seem at all impossible. Then again anything east of the Cascade Summit I usually just bring more socks and wear gators if needed.
A Goretex Boot seems to slow the flow of moisture. I think too many lava type rocks will tear up a pair of Xtra-Tuffs like a dog chew toy.

Re: Georga Boots -- mine leak
I have 3 different pair of Danners (a lightweight pair for upland hunting and two more rugged elk hunting pair) and have also had the Cabelas Guide Series boots which were made by Danner - all were/are goretex, and none of them have ever leaked a drop. I've hunted with them in Western Washington in the wettest conditions possible and in Eastern Oregon in lots of snow, crossing creeks, etc. and never had an issue with them.

Re: Georga Boots -- mine leak
Goretex boots that are well taken care of won't leak on you, provided there is no manufacturer defect. Make sure and wash them with clean water as much as possible when you get em dirty. The dirt will work its way through seams or through cordura and work on the Gore material eventually wearing a hole or just clogging up the Gore pores so they don't breath. Don't use any animal bases product on your boots, or allow them to get hot next to a fire or heater.

Same experiance here, I have had several pairs of Danners and one pair of Rockys, I only had leak's after seven or eight years.
