Default New Verado electronic shift?

Anyone have any experience with teh new Verados? I am told the shift and throtle are totally electronic. No cables, so the shift/throttle is smooth. Goes into gear like an automatic transmission... from forward to reverse lliek butter??? I know all the reasons why electronics can fail, but what I really want to know if anyone has one or knows someone who has one or two. Any input is great!
