Default Sandy River Gage

Went out yesterday for a little late pm fishin'. The USGS gage said it was @ 11.9' + -. Looked at least a foot higher. Wonder if the base gage levels have changed. Anyone else notice a difference?

Im not sure but I think the gauges changed a couple years ago from around marmot down to the bull run area or something, usually when the water is around 11 ft its very fishable, but when I drove by yesterday evening it still seemed pretty high and turbent.

I've always wondered if the gauge reading below Bull Run is affected by run off from Bull Run and so isn't always an accurate reading of what the river looks like just above Dodge Park and Cedar Creek. I usually just go with it and it seems fine but there have been a few times in the past where it didn't seem accurate. Does Bull Run regulate the release of water from the resevoir somtimes which might throw the reading off?

I have noticed the same thing. Went fishing yesterday in oxbow and the usgs site said 11.3. I have fished it half a dozen times and know that it was well above 12. It has been really consistent except for the last two weeks since we had the big push of rain. The river was in decent shape all though the bite was off. A few fish caught but not the numbers i was hoping for the conditions.
