Default guess the weight

Lots of people have posted pics of fish, and have exagerated the weight. Or did they??? I can't count how many times i've gotten pics back of nice fish and have been so disappointed when they don't look as big as they did when i pulled em from the water. I guess all im saying is if your gonna post a pic and your gonna be optimistic when guessing the weight, you may get flamed....

Just for fun though (and since i just learned how to post pics) try to guess the weight of this fish. I caught it Spring of 2005 in the columbia river near tri cities. It was released unharmed btw. Its my personal best.

To be conservative I'll go with high 4lbs or low 5lbs. Am I getting warm?

I'll give up the answer after a few others post. I am just curious to see how tricky it is to guess from the pics. THe problem with Ifish pics is that you have to shrink them down, so its real hard to tell ya know!

welp, the fish weighed in on berkly digital scale at 5 lbs. 6 oz. so Knot in Leader is the closest with BBq bassin a close 2nd.

Here is another pic of the same fish. This one looks a little heavier to me. I would have guessed low 4's if i hadnt been there.

Thanks spinnerweeny:

it was fun. I caught the flu real bad the day befor and called in sick. i was feeling better by noon, so i decided not to waste a perfectly good sick day and went out. Still felt like crap, but it was worth it. Right before i caught the female (who was full of eggs), i caught, what i believe was her boyfriend. you be the judge.

That area has kicked out some big fish, lately. A few have been in the Bassmaster lunker club page- smallmouth over six pounds. Mouth of the Yakima/ the "reach". Those are great fish- nice work. Incidentally, I was going to guess in the high fives on both of those fish- they look big! Dave

This would have been a hard guess for me since I have not caught a smally that big but I would have guessed just over 5lbs. Of course I have been told for years that I undersize all fish including my own.

I was surprised then I got a digital scale and started weighing my fish and found that I did undersize quite a few of them.

By the way nice fish.
