Re: Tuesday reports, let's hear them....
We headed out of Newport at 6:50 AM on a flat ocean. We were able to make 20 knots most of the way to "61" (in the flat bottom dory aka Chum King). The water temps were still way to low for tuna at "61" so we continued on towards Tuna Town, at about 44D 57M x 124D 52M we ran into what at first look seemed to be a good temperature edge at around 58.5 F... we were mistaken.
After trolling around here for a half hour without success, we started hearing of a few fish being taken due North around 45D 05M, so we headed North.
In the first three hours of trolling we ended up with only one drive by. From the sound of it, it was primarily scratch fishing. For the next three hours, we ended up with 4 missed fish, 4 in the boat (including one peanut), and one rod broken on a fish... but we got that one. The hot lure was a Zuker broomtail in zuchinni, but we had three missed fish on a Channel Island Chovie fish trap. No hits on the handlines, cedar plug, purple and black, or the zuchinni Rapala.
The SW had moved in making the grounds somewhat sloppy, and I knew it was going to increase fuel consumption on the way back, so after number four hit the bleeder box, we squared away for a very long drive back. It was grind and spray at 10-14 knots for the first hour and a halfs of the drive back. Fortunately, at about 35 miles from the Yaquina Bar, the slop started to let up, and before long we were cruising at 22-25 knots all the way back in.
We never say jumpers, birds working, or any zones of kelp on the grounds. Just a slow scratch, that possibly could have heated up.

Fished with Tracker out of Ilwaco. We caught 27 mostly on zuccini clones way back in the spread. Details to follow.
Must sleep....

Coos Bay. The fish were a little north and outside of where the were expected. Good ocean, good weather, lots of boats. Numbers ranged from single digits to low thirties, good grade, mid-day bite. They were working pods of small fish, 5-6 inches long shaped like a torpedo with dark blue backs.

Fished out of Garibaldi today. Final tally was 26.
45.40 X 125.52. Run due west and find blue water.
Good luck.

fished with Garibaldi group. Fished 124 50 45 50 plenty of fish Rate limiting was us getting our lines back in and a sloppy ocean. Mexican flag, cedar plugs and white feathers left over from commercial days were the best lures. Bar was great and after the 124 30 line ride in was fine

Re: Tuesday reports, let's hear them....
Bendman and I went out of Depoe today and ended up with 14 in the box. We lost about twice that many, (don't know, must of been doing something wrong.) Found 3 commercial boats out at decimal 45.3000 N, 125.2000 W and we started to catch them regularly but scratchy. Ended up going out 72 miles and still hitting them but turned around and trolled clear back to 10 miles north of tuna town with a couple more in the box, BUT bigger fish in closer. We had one on that stretched the bungy to the max but never got to see it. Pete told me that it was a monster.
Blue water was found out at 60 miles or so. As the day progressed it moved in to about decimal 124.8...Hope this helps.
Hey, we had a great time and I think we figured out how to get more than one fish when we have 4 or 5 on at the same time.

Coos Bay, hit 4 right off the bat, landed 3, spent the rest of the day chasing radio fish Ended with only 7, but they were all hogs

Sounded like the best action was out farther West and North (125-10, 43-22).
