Default Sekiu

Just wondering if any of you guys have fished Sekiu recently. I am planning a trip up there on 21st with some buddies from WA and havent been there in about 15 years. Would like some techniques if possible. I know that years ago trolling in front of the caves in the AM used to be productive. Thanks in advance.

I kind of quit CQ. Last year, 2 of us, 14 chinooks in the net, we got to keep four(4). Trouble is, that many of these fish are BC fish and they dont fin clip. Neither do the indian hatcheries. Real frustrating. The general rule is "the catchin is great, the keepin is not so hot". I pull cut plugs but Hot Spot flasher, 5.0 or better 6.0 Coyote, 4 feet back is good. The bite slows down in mid day. Go to the point west of CQ and pull big Tomic plugs, deep, 120-140, fast 3mph or better.

Tribal politics. 15 miles west and Neah is open fin or no fin. You'd think there would be no dif in the regs. But thats a reser and they dont want to do anything to keep paleface fisherfolks away. But CQ is a paleface outfit. Tuff luck!

I fished Sat.-Mon. Really pretty slow. Silvers didn't seem to be in and we only caught 1 nice King about 20Lbs. Oh, not to mention the wild 30+ pounder we had to release so it could swim into one of the gillnetters rigs.
