The First Keeper.......
This trip actually culminated itself last night. Blacktail519 posted some open seats and a few of us responded. We didn't hear back from him until later that night and he never did really confirm. King Fisher and I decided to fish anyway in his boat.
We would find out later that Blacktail519 had one too many Banana Daquiri's the night before and fell asleep. It's OK Todd, next time we'll meet at your place and bring the air horn.
Launched the boat at zipperlip launch site  at o'dark thirty with KingFisher (Rick). We were both supposed to work later that day, so the trip was meant to be a short one.
Later that morning I tell Rick my predicament. I'd been out for Sturgeon about a dozen times and have yet to catch a keeper. We had been catching quite a few shakers all morning. It came to be time to pull anchor and go home and Rick says "Lets catch a keeper real quick and then go."
Fifteen minutes later. I had a tussle with this big guy.
45" Sturgeon on Salmon gear !!! wooohoooo !!
Thanks Rick for a great trip. This one was worth missing work for.

Re: The First Keeper.......
Nice fish! One of these days, I've got to branch out and try sturgeon. It's sure hard to pull away from steelhead and salmon.

Re: The First Keeper.......
skp, you would hate it. the non-stop action is a real drag . no time to eat, answer the cell phone, drink, just absolutely a drag..  just stick with the crowds of steelheaders fishing for one fish, or the opportunity to hook something, honestly you gotta try it its a hoot, and if the fish falls off, there will be another one along soon,, kb
