Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
It's legal to sell off a sport boat with a tuna landing license. I know of a handful of ifishers that have them.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
It is not illegal to sell off of a sport boat as long as you have a tuna landing license. I think they are around 20$ at ODFW? But you have to comply with all the commercial requirements for safety gear (epirb, life raft, survival suits, ect) on the boat or you could get a hefty fine.
It has been a while since I looked into this but this is what I remember.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
You need more than a tuna landing license. You need a fish sellers permit as well and in some ports you need a special insurance binder. You can call the ODFW and get a list of fish seller permits for each port. I would imagine the ones from Ifish will contact you as soon as they see your post.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
Rods right...you need a Tuna landing lic...then a limited fish sellers permit....(which is a 200 deposit)...this year you need a new federal thing (its free)
Then you must comply with ALL the dumb rules.
#1..all fish must be sold with the boat in the water.
(a whole sale lic. 1000, is away around that, I think)
#2. can't clean fish w/out, certifaction from Home Extension Office)
#3 certified scales\
#4 Call to notify ODFW of your landing, and location, with estimate of catch
#5..Do all the paperwork...pay poundage fee to the state and the Tuna federation (you get a tuna poster from them)
#6 must keep records on your vessel for 3 years or so.
Geez...what else did I miss???????
It is a BIG BIG pain in the butt....and yes your required to have everything a commercial boat going to Alaska must have (even though, the family boat fishing next to you is not required to have a radio.)
There is however a few commercial guys on ifish who do sell....one is Eightball, and at this moment he is on his way in from tuna town with 70 plus fish (I just spoke with him).
He sells from his boat, and will probably do so tomorrow. You can PM him with your order I am sure.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
I know Marty used to have a landing permit, but don't know if he does anymore, or who he sells his fish to...wow, I'm a BIG help, aren't I! He runs out of Depoe and has moorage there.
Anyway, you might pm Marty and see if he is selling this summer.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
 It's not legal to sell of dock with a Tuna landing license. A landing license allows you to commercially catch tuna and sell to fish markets and wholsealers at the dock. You are not allowed to transport the tuna or sell to the public. If you purchase an additional permit to sell off of the dock and comply with their rules you can sell off of the dock.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
You can have your tuna carked for and additional amount of money. In the past, it has been $3-$5 per fish.

Re: Any Ifishers\' Sell Tuna?
I do sell off the boat. I have all the bells and whistles to make it legal. I just came in with about a 1000#. It is not legal to sell it carked. The seller can cark it for you after you buy it (for a fee of course). Like Wak said, it's a royal pain in the shorts to sell off the boat. last trip I spent four days waiting for people to show up. Then took over a 1000# to the fish plant. The fish I sell are cared for. Bled right away, then put in slush ice, then packed in ice. It's hard work.
