Opinions Please
Assumptions:
1) The need for a 20 Guage exists.
2) A short gun is needed for portability.
3) My significant other enjoys watching the dog work in the field, wants to go, and looking good is important, so she would shoot the gun as well.
4) Cost is an issue.
5) Both my significant other and I are clumsy.
What do you all think of one of these?

Re: Opinions Please
I am not a fan of those really short "Cowboy action" guns, but the SPR10 looked nice.
I have Double guns, 2 of them From Huglu, and A ruger red label.
if you want an affordable gun (under $1000, get a Huglu (now they are marketed under the name "DeHaan".
You can Lock up TIGHT, have lots of hand engraving, Hand checkered Turkish Walnut stock, 5 differen t screw in chokes.
I would avoid Huglu models made for the overseas market, they do not have the level of detail that the ones for the US Market have (you can tell they are for the european mkt, because they have fixed chokes and sling swivels)
I found that the Stoeger has an awfully big feel to it, I like a lighter and faster 20, and one that feels more like it is an extension of my arm.
The Stoeger I tried just felt too big for my liking.
If you are on a tighter budget than the Dehaan will allow for, you might look at the russian guns. IZH/Baikal... They can be had for $300-400 and look nice for that price.
I believe that they are mass produced, but then again, so it the Remington 870, and lots of folks love that gun.

11-87 Remington. Reasonable cost, low recoil.

Re: Opinions Please
I have a Stoeger Condor O/U as well and LOVE IT!! I have a 26" barell but being that it is a 20 gauge and and O/U it is very light and easy to carry in the field. I have a buddy that has the same gun that is a 24" barell. It is still reall nice and very quick to shoot. It is probably too short to hunt waterfowl but works great for upland. I know he has had a lot of success with it over the last could years.
Teton, how about sharing something about your Stoeger or have a covered it all?

Got one, love it. Want more of a "beater" gun.

I believe Baikal manufactures this gun for Remington, so that's probably a good endorsement.
Thanks to all who have replied.

Re: Opinions Please
2 words for ya.......GUN SHOW. an 11-87 is a fine gun, but to me that is kind of a beater, so its all subjective. I would go to a gun show and look around to get ideas if not purchase. But if you want a gun that can be ruffed up a little you might as well look for a reliable used gun, that maybe already has some scratches. I was a at a gun shop the other day and they had about 3 real nice looking browning BPS 20GA for about 300.00.
