I asked also and one of the members told me,

The pile is 17 miles +/- west south west of Newport. Tuna town is at 45/125 which is around 60 miles west north west of Newport

Other place on the board said someone out of astoria today has 70 tuna on board. We might go tomorrow for tuna instead of salmon. Now calling crew. Need numbers though, anyone?

Keep in mind that the Dogs are very happy to share numbers, but are unlikely to post them here. Also, chances are good that most Dogs are out running with the pack today. If you don't find them soon, check out a TA meeting or send a PM to someone you have confidence in.

If you look in the fishing regulations they give you 5 gps numbers that completely enclose the rockpile/stonewall banks. You cannot fish within this "exclusion" area. I believe the "true" rockpile is within this exclusion area so when people talk about the rockpile it's somewhat of a general area just east of the exclusion zone. Put these in your plotter and create a route so it draws a line between all points. Makes it easier to stay out.

Stone Wall Closure SWC1 44 37.46 124 24.92
Stone Wall Closure SWC2 44 37.46 124 23.63
Stone Wall Closure SWC3 44 28.71 124 21.80
Stone Wall Closure SWC4 44 28.71 124 24.10
Stone Wall Closure SWC5 44 31.42 124 25.47

HEre are some numbers posted before on ifish. They are both within the zone but like I said when people say the rockpile it's usually east of these points. You'll see boats.

North Rockpile
44.32.335N
124.22.816W

South Rockpile
44.29.612N
124.22.300W

You'll want to learn to use the search function. You will find what you need by doing a little looking with the search. Here's an example from a "rockpile" search:

You may salmon fish all you want in the conservation zone, as long as you are trolling and not mooching, and have no halibut on board.

Better check the ocean regs while you are at it.

We were on the NW end of the Rockpile.
These are not exact #s where we were but;
44 38.7
124 25
When you catch a fish work that area. As the day goes by go a little deeper. Good Luck!

another tip would be look for the trollers and the charters, they are getting paid to catch fish, so my guess would be there in the fish.
