Went on the Cowlitz River, Saturday, with my family and guide. It would be one step up from dead, and calling it "slow" would have been an understatement. The river was flowing around 5200 which is about a 1/3 of what it normally flows this time of year, plus the water was almost brown, tea, etc. So RT you need a new post titled "Low Murky Water Conditions". Still a great trip. My blind mother caught her first salmon though. It was a 9 lb. silver hen. Only saw one banker down at Blue Creek with a steely. We pulled plugs and also used spin n glow/sandshrimps. The silver hit a firetiger red/black wiggle wart. I got a 16" cuttie that was chrome. Both fish were released.

Thanks much for the report 'Yall. From what I've heard and seen for myself the run is not coming in as strong as predicted by fish bios. With the big freshets in recent days now coming back into shape we will soon know what we have; all over both states. If the hatchery fish aren't there in pretty good numbers I'd say the run won't be as good as expected. But it will still be decent and worthwhile. .... Let us know what you see out there today fishers. Thanks. - RT

Snapshot and Golfpro went today on the Wilson. Water was perfect, weather was perfect, bait was perfect, gear was perfect, lots of doughballs and one big skunk!!!! Someone stole rag's strap off his driftboat at the Nehalem. If anyone knows who took it let me know. ha! ha!

Rags you should have had No Pilgram in the old drifter instead of Snapshot (Pilgram). He always brings good luck. No hits no runs and no errors huh??? At least you were fish'n instead of wish'n like No Pilgram. I guess I'll have to try ice fishing on Strawberry this weekend. Haven't heard from roooooole tide. He must be out catching those big cats. Did you let Golfpro row you and Snapshot today,so he could get some great exercise?? Have a happy holiday (the rest of the week!)

NoPilgram-I didn't go with Snapshot and Golfpro. Had to stay home and help out. I might try to go on Thursday or Friday.
