Re: Found a DEAL!
Pitch there are alot better things you buy with 49.99. You will use about 1 in 20 of those baits and as you learn more, you will use about 1 in 50. Trust me on this one.

You can get some great upgrades to your boat with 50 dollars. You can buy a nice new pole or even a great Baitcasting reel for that much.

Re: Found a DEAL!
I looked at it pitch and they are 75 bags that are all tubes. Just buy a bag or two of tubes and you are covered for about 5 or 6 bucks. Maybe a watermelon/ red and a green pumpkin and you got it covered.

Re: Found a DEAL!
You sound a bit like me. I can't pass up lures and other fishing supplies. It is like a disease. My husband can't get me out of the store without a couple packages of some new color or design. There may be a lot of other things you can do with $49.99 but you can sure do a lot worse, too. Just remember - moderation is the key.

Re: Found a DEAL!
this was the conversation in Cabelas boardroom: "JB, find a way to get rid of those ridiculous colors that you idiots made!" "I'm on it, JR, let's appeal to the green-eyed, over ambitious kid who is just dieing to blow a bunch of hard-earned $ just so he can "stock-up", and hope he doesn't talk to some hardcore bass fishing guru's beforehand".
The ball's in your court, P-Boy, whatchya gonna do? ALL the colors you need (both of them) are listed in the very wise post above.................

i use to be like that in a way, so here is a tip
try 1 - 2 bags out. if you like them, and if they work for you, then buy more.
why would you spend x amount of money on something you dont know will work for you. everyone has their own favorite / confidence bait. who knows, that bait might not be yours.
your style of fishing may or may not work for certain baits.
i know with me, one thing i dont like are tubes. i was gonna buy a whole bunch of bags when i first tried them out. luckily i only bought 2. i prefer to use other plastics.
if you want them, and you are @ the next fish in, they are yours.
they are yum by the way.
good luck

Re: Found a DEAL!
Pitch,
THere is no real reason you need a bunch of plastics laying around. They get old, breakdown, and dryout if they aren't stored correctly, so why do you need that many plastics. I always just buy a couple bags of my fav. plastics the day before i go out. Do not buy this. You'll waste most of the baits.

Re: Found a DEAL!
I have a couple of orange crates full of good deals that never earned a full time spot in my tackle boxes.
just buy a few baits to try it out. You will save a lot of money and have less waste...and more money to buy the ones that work well.

Now why didn`t you tell me that before I bought enough baits to open a tackle store, jeeeeeezzzzz, and I thought you were a friend.
Honestly I have bought lots of different baits and have found some things that work better than others that are actually more popular. You never really know about colors either. I think I would go for it. You can always sell what you don`t want on Ebay and probably get your original investment back. I do that all the time.

Re: Found a DEAL!
Thought I would put in my
I have found that there are some baits and colors that do not work on some lakes but work great on others. Time of year, water conditions, light condition, ect. all go into what color, size, and type. I rarely fish the same place two weeks in a row. Like I will be at CP one weekend and on the Willy the next and so on. Because of all this moving around I need many different shapes, sizes, and colors for differnt conditions. However there are baits that work well in many different lakes and rivers in all kinds of coditions.(like Senkos, crankbaits, ect)
As it has been said on this board over and over, you need to have confidence in the lure you are using. So here is my advice to you Pboy. Since you mostly fish Silver Lake stick to what works for you on Silver. If you want to try something different then ask others like Roger what they use. It would only be a good deal if you were able to use all of the lures before the get too old and are able to catch fish on all of the different colors you end up with.
Like I said this is just my

Re: Found a DEAL!
Silver Lake= Green Pumpkin for plastics and black/chartruse for spinnerbaits/buzzbaits. I fish silver about 3x a week and a black/chartuse buzzbait just before dark say....8:30 kills em fish the thickest nastiest cover you can and you will pull out some hawgs. I pull out 3+ lb fish every time i go (no exaggeration). Also pitchin is the way to go. Zoom baby brush hogs are a killer bait for pitchin next to the red bushes. The key to bassin is persistance.

Re: Found a DEAL!
When I was at Silver Lake about a month ago I talked to a guy that's been fishing it daily for about 10 years. He swore by Senkos and gave me a bunch of them (purple and pumpkin). I went out and immediately landed a 3 pounder by some pilings along with several other smaller LM. Just something to consider.

Re: Found a DEAL!
I like senkos a lot except that they seem to fall apart real easy, I have tried Alluring baits that look like senkos. I kinda like them, Alluring baits, because after you put the hook in, there is like a slot on the side so it makes it more weedless. I would like to try both at the same time to see if one out does the other. I think the senkos have more salt and that maybe why they fall apart easier. Just my thoughts.

Re: Found a DEAL!
Yeah i just started using senkos and i am very impressed. The bass go crazy over them it must be the way they fall, but they are definately my new "dog days" go to bait. I just pitch them as close to the "red bushes" as i can and it seems to work well. I texas rig them with a 1/16 oz bullet wight i think most people fish them weight less and i think im going to try that out, maybe i will get some of the more fineky fish that way?

Re: Found a DEAL!
i like to go weedless and weightless wacky rig for calm conditions... when theres alot of weeds i will texas rig weedless.. pretty much the only time i use weight is when its windy.. keep a pretty tight line when they drop and you will SEE even the smallest bite.. i set hook whenever i think a bass is looking at it lol..
