Default Kutch Archery

Had the pleasure of meeting Ken today out at Kutch Archery for a little fine tuning of both the bow and the shooter

He started by paper tuning the bow and figured out in 30 seconds why I couldn't put the group together I wanted. After that I shot for about 20 minutes with suggestions here and there, then he had me switch to a special release. He says he only has 2 otherwise I would of bought one, but basically, they are designed to make you squeeze the release rather than jerk. I couldn't believe how hard it was to get a shot off. I definately have some practice to do.

Picked up a new release as my old one was too big, and left after shooting some nice groups. I need to go back and spend a couple hours getting out a little further, but I only had a couple hours today.

After going to every bow shop in town and always feeling like the last one to be picked for basketball, it was amazing what a difference his shop was. It was about an hour from my house in Beaverton, but well worth it...

I will definately be spending more money there, and the a new bow is in my future next year, (don't tell the wife).

Ken and his Mrs are both top shelf. Good at what they do and still have the down home country type attitude. I will go there for as long as they are in business. I got tired of being treated like I was not quite up to par in the other shops. Going out there I don't have that problem any more. After I saw them both working with my boy I was sold on them for as long as I they keep an open shop.

Beamerfish,

I believe Kutch Archery is out in Yamhill. Let me double check...

Edited: Yup...it's in Yamhill. I'll PM you the info since they're not an IFISH sponsor.

They are out past Carlton. Head out meadow lake for a long way Turn right on Moores Valley I think that will be the second road on the right after Panther creek. The turn will be almost 180 degrees. Head down the gravel until you come to I think Upper Kutch rd. They will be the pole barn on the NW corner. Parking around the side of the shop.

I believe though that they are closed on Sunday and Monday.

Head out there and have a blast.

Been goin to Kutch for years. Kenny has taught me so much when it comes to tuning bows. I don't like spending my money at any other archery shops...you get the best service at Kutch.

Kutch is a great place to spend the day shooting with your friends or family. They have a 100 yard sight in range, 60 yard broadhead range and a 40 target 3-D range, all for $10! If Kenny, Ruth, Kenith or Bob are readin this post, thanx for all your hard work and help. Mark

PS. how to get there; call 503-852-7537

I have a "flock" of Bowtechs from Kenny & Ruth.

Whether you're a 6 year old kid wanting to fling an arrow at a paper turkey, or a 40 year old experienced archer, it's a great place. On the list of "great businesses in Oregon" as far as I'm concerned!!

I've shot the 3D course....it wasn't $10 bucks when I did...but that was a while ago.

Good course...varying elevation shots...liked it a bunch!!
