Default Sandy River

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Fished the lower Sandy again this morning. Water high and off color about 2-3 feet visibility. Plunked. Nobody did anything by the railroad bridge. Not sure how they did below the I-84 bridge but there were quite a few trying. Nice morning.

Ron,

I may try again down by I-84. Or I might take the kids trout fishing. Will post a report. Hope you had good luck.

If the Sate plants 160,000 WS smolts in the Sandy River how many do you think make it back ?
Clue 1. Big Creek Stock are the poorest performing stock that ODF&W propigates.
Clue 2. Sandy WS come from Big Creek.
Clue 3. It's less than 1%.

ssteelheadsteve, I'm sure you are a wonderful person but.......What you said....That's like saying there is no Santa Claus. May every cast bring a snag or Sucker fish for you

Just saw my first verified winter steelhead of the season at Oxbow 10 lb chrome bright hatchery buck was landed this afternoon by an angler fishing corky and sand shrimp at the boat ramp. I've been hearing of fish but just hadn't actually seen a bright winter fish till just now. Glad I've got Thursdays and Fridays off. The river looks great at about 10 foot and now I know there are some fish in.

Ryan Fish:

Way to go. I haven't fished Oxbow much (though I buy an annual pass every year). I am sure you could teach me some things.

I ended up not going fishing yesterday. Spent the day wrestling with the computer (new software for the kids). I am sure Jen can relate. Sounds like things are heating up. Not sure what my schedule is this weekend but I hope to get out.

Hey Ryanfish
Thanks for the invite at Oxbow! Would love to bring my fishing classes there to teach them to fish and have an expert like you to show them too!! Hope to invade your tent soon!
Tight lines!
