Default Fishy Words for Christmas Songs

Between John (HOGTIDE) and Marty, I got an idea that it might be fun for people to put new fishing oriented words to Christmas songs. This would not be in disrespect to the meaning of Christmas songs; just a little holiday fishing song fun. Besides, it's muddy and the Wilson is headed toward 8' or so? ...

John alreay did a number on Jingle Bells in his Dingle Bells post. I added a verse to it too. I'll copy those over to here. I challenge Os and 'Yall to do this and still keep it 'G' rated. ... I listen to Jen do this in the boat right off the top of her head, so entertain us JJ. ...

See following post ...

Go John:

To the music of "Jingle Bells" -

Casting through the snow
-in an 80 horse open sled
On the Clackamas I did go
-on a report I had misread
Bells for plunkers ring
-making lines go tight
The drags on cheap reels sing
- another fish wins the fight

Oh Dingle bells, Dingle bells
-dingle bells casting lead
I'd have to be a Dingle Bell
-to freeze my face off in this sled

Wish I could blame this one on the EggNog

Bankie verses - take it RT:

O'er the fields we go
tromping down the hay
oh what fun it is to trespass
fishing on Christmas day ...

look in' at that drift
making graphite rise
having just gone walked so far
I think I chapped my thighs ...

time to fling a cast
my corky's driftin fast
gonna be a real cool blast
gotta make this last!...

didn't hook a fish
better try some jigs
yall know what is my next wish
not to catch more twigs ...

now it's gettin late
this could become a scare
have to try Marie's good bait
and hey - I land my pair!

do dat do dat dat ...

Thanks John, now I have that tune stuck in my head until I can go listen to some good rap music. - RT

Ok Steve, I'll help you out ONE more time on this song stuck in your head thing, Now listen:

I feeeeel good na na na na na na nat and I knew that I would na na na na na na nat
And my wife and my girlfriend and my dog left too na na na na na na nat

it's a little J Brown kind of cross between country and rap...we call it crap.

To the tune of I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...

The rain is falling,
the grass is green,
The doug firs and alders sway,
There's never been such a dayyyyyy
in Tillamook Oregon, usaaaaaaaaaaa

And it's December the 24th....
but I am longing to go up North!

I'm dreaming of a night at the Clam Gulch!
Waking to trophy fishing days!
With the Kenai flowing,
the salmon showing,
fishing in the rivers, oceans and bays....

I'm dreaming of a night at the Clam Gulch,
With RW smiling by the fire!
She knows that all those fish out there, will bite!
And that every one of them will be bright!

Well, I need some more coffee...
J

I know most aren't christmas songs, but there are some good fishy tunes on the following site. www.twistedtunes.com Its a local radio station who makes up great tunes. Fuzzy and I get a good laugh from these, and thought it would be nice to share Go to the vault, and click on *S* for the *Salmon and Steelhead* song, and *Sealion eats tonight* These guys are ingenious!

God rest ye noble steelhead
I’m coming down to play
I know where you are laying
I’ll cast a bait your way
When bobber down
If I don’t drown
I’ll make you mine that day

You’ll be fighting and
Jumping, OH BOY
Jumping OH BOY

I’ll be fighting and
Jumping for joy

I just want a fish for Christmas
I just want a fish for Christmas
I just want a fish for Christmas
Can’t wait for next year

I know where I can get one
I know where I can get one
I know where I can get one
The North Fork is right here

Good bait do we bring
For steelies and kings

I just want a fish for Christmas
Or I’ll shoot a reindeer

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house.
The whole darn family was drunk as a louse..

Ma home from GI Joes and Dad home from Garts
They had just settled down to make fishing parts

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I jumped out of bed to see whats the matter!

Away to the window I flew like a flash.
Threw open the shutters and fell flat on my ass.

And what to my bloodshot eyes should appear?
A rusty old sleigh and some funny named raindeer.

Now Fenwick and Orvis up over the wall
Quick now goldarnit or I’ll cut off your………

Up the rooftop he staggered and fell.
He came down the chimney like a bat out of hell.

Well ole St. Nick on his way to the door,
He tripped over his leader and fell flat on the floor.

I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight.
Good fishin to all and to all a good fight!
