Default sandy report

I went over to the sandy for a few hours this afternoon. No luck. It was a nice green up by oxbow about 1pm and went brown from there. The lower river was pretty brown colored. If it doesn't rain much tonight, it should be worth a try tomorrow. I heard of one caught somewhere around oxbow.

I plunked Oxbo till almost 2pm today.....a couple bell ringers and one good takedown by others but that's it......the water was slowly changing up there too. Two old farts and Mrdorkfish were in the red tent....you should have asked around about other Ifish people ! You never know who you'll meet.

I guess I should have checked back here
yesterday. I called jack's and was told
the water looked good about 4pm. Launched
in darkness, left at daylight. Did meet
the MOLE MAN. I'm sure at mid week when I'm
back to work, conditions will be ideal.
Louis, I'll have to keep an eye out for that
tent. Give me a shout when you are ready
to float the river.

I'll keep my eyes open for you "ifishers", as I fish the Sandy quite a bit. Haven't been out yet this winter, but if the water level is good I'll be running the lower section on Tuesday. Although I fish the lower section the most, we also drift from Oxbow down from time to time, so when I'm up there I'll stop by and say hi.

For those who fish the lower section, I'll be in a 16' Alumaweld Sea Dory with console, white lettering, and white antenna.

I'll also be fishing the Clackamas and Willammette for steelhead, as well as that early Springer. Caught an early Springer at Dabney on Feb. 15 a couple years ago. You just never know when those things will sneak in.

I'd be happy to meet and talk with other "ifishers", so if you see me, feel free to wave me down. (I guess I'd better order an Ifish decal for the boat!)

Good luck!
Neal

Was the RED TENT at the Oxbow boat ramp? I think I saw you guys. I was one of those four boats putting in the dark. We landed one nate and lost another. After Oxbow the river started to color up. One creek looked like chocolate milk feeding the river.

Hey Ryanfish
Thanks for the invite at Oxbow! Would love to bring my fishing classes there to teach them to fish and have an expert like you to show them too!! Hope to invade your tent soon!
Tight lines!
The Capt.

P.S. Forgot to mention that we will be in two white commercial vans. Also, classes start the second week of January.
