Default River levels today!!

Have you seen the river heights today? The rivers came up faster last night and today then any other time this year. Check out the graphs. With one day of serious rain we now go from fishing to the waiting game. Great, and this being Christmas week and all. Better pray for some dry weather.

happy holidays,

hook

Hook,

The reason for the rise in the rivers is called runoff. And yes they did come up faster than any other time this year mainly due to the fact that it rained more last night than any other time this year. The ground is now saturated and when it rains, it will make the rivers rise fast!

One of the net graphs I use is down; the other indicated the Wilson R. at 7.6' at 7:15 p.m. this evening. The up side of this is that we haven't had a real blow out freshet all season up 'till now and this will clean out most of the leaves, silt, and other debris; as well as bring in the start of the peak push of fish. What goes up must come down and when they do they will be cleaner for any method of fishing, and will have some mint bright brutes waiting to grab your gear!
