I vote for my backyard. Anywhere between the I-5 bridge and the nudie (Collins?) beach on Sauvies island. I'm going tomorrow. I'll probably be by the T-6 freight container loading dock. Look for the 19' blue Bayliner that says 'Pilar' on the side. Rope over the side with a keeper on it and blaring classical music is a good clue as well.

Pilar,

65 incher outside the mouth of the
Willamette down a bit Oregon side
across from park on Washington side.
Biggest almost I've seen lately. My
partner was trying his new Salmon
Rod (current is slow as you know) and
trust me it is now flexed past the
biggest Salmon he will ever touch!
Was fun for him, oversize but not
the gut renching deal, just many
big runs on the Salmon Rod with
4 ounces out there! Ate a squid
tenacles piece of smelt tied on
snot bait. Best to you guys.

Damn near killed us (yes did the
stupid bring it in the boat to
measure it thang).

Sounds like you are fishing close to the same place I do well in....I am with you on the current is slow....Help me out on snot bait and squid tenacles / smelt if you would please. I have been doing well on smelt and scents of a couple brands.

E-mail is good.

In the boat with an oversize?, Ouch!!!!!!!!!! You know better ******.

The last time I did that a tackle box went sailing over the side and my fishing bud went to the emergency room for stitches on his leg.

The fish laid there quiet, all 150# of him for about 60 seconds. Then all hell broke loose as he writhed and thrashed around busting up the boat and anything or one who got in the way.

Never been in more of a hurry to get something back in the water. That's why I call em GATORS! If I'm not mistaken it is also illegal to land an oversize on the beach or pull it into the boat. I think its a $500 fine. Does anyone know? The main thing is that pulling the big gator out of the water tears his internal organs loose and can kill him (her). We use a 1" x 2" board that's 10' long and measure them in the water. Have fun!

The bend is your friend!

Two close not to measure and too wild
too try next to the boat. Did not hurt
it Pilar...no need for the lesson in
law and handling. I know.
