Chinese Proverb (fishing)
"If you wish to be happy for an hour, get intoxicated.
If you widh to be happy for three days, get married.
If you wish to be happy for eight days, kill your pig and eat it.
If you wish to be happy forever, learn to fish.

"If you give a man a fish he eats for a day,
If you teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime."
Teach a kid to fish today!
The bend is your friend!

Re: Chinese Proverb (fishing)
I still prefer "spawn till you die" but these are good too.
And "The gods do not subtract the time a man spends fishing."
Hey these smilie jobbies are cool

My wifes favorite version is:
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day,
Teach him to fish and you are rid of him for
the weekend.

My favorite used to be "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"... that was before I learned that a lot of those units enjoyed the company of little boys and liked feeding perfectly good virgens to the lions... hummmm.... I don't have a fovorite anymore

"When fishing try to keep your pants up." I don't know who originated that classic, but I have to heed that all the time. If I don't I start to look like a plumber out there. - RT

Re: Chinese Proverb (fishing)
Shouldn't the person standing in near-freezing water, in howling wind and rain, with a runny, frozen nose REALLY be the one called a "steelhead"??
