Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
Just got stocked very well thanks to Charkbait....
Man, they had a special 2 weeks ago on some spinoff Tuna Clone Feather Jigs in the 7-Strand 200 & 100 size for $2.49 each....They will definately work
Also ordered some of those hard to find Jerry Garcia's as well as many other color variations..... man, I guess you never have enough tackle....

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I also bought some of those $2.49 specials. Having never fished for Tuna before I didn't know if it was a good choce for a lure. Your endorsement makes me feel better.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I have seen a few of these clones.
If your using 50lb line you wont have "to many" problems most of the lures dont have a big enough hole to get any larger line thru, and some the hole in the lead is all smashed on the end and nothing goes thru it.
Try rigging these before you get on the water and have disappointment.
Let us know how it works for you

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
Ya Roy.....
I am pretty retentive in regards to having all my clones ready to go prior to hitting the water.
I have not tried rigging up with the 250# liter yet so you have peaked my curiosity.... Better go do so rigging....

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I got the same mystery feathers from Charkbait. They are P-line Titan's in 200 and 100. On the 200's the lead head is more like a 300 size. One of mine was a 200 size.
I had no problem rigging mine with 150# berkly, and the ones I rigged with 80# I had to use beads to keep the knot from going into the lead head. 250# may be a bit tight though.
I would suggest rinsing them well and letting them dry before rigging. The first time I got mine wet was out fishing and afterwards the die in the feathers bled and stained my leaders.
Oh and they catch fish, atleast mine in zuuchini do!

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
let me clarify, the 200's seem fine the 100's we couldnt get a larger line thru, or line at all on some of them.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
Same problem I'm having...rigged a bunch last night and the darn holes are too small.
We drilled some out and they work ok...but my two cents on these P-Line jigs...they suck! Don't hold up nearly as well as the 7-strand.
You get what you pay for!

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I rigged all my 100's with 80# for use with rod and reel. I didnt try anything bigger in them.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I thought they were pretty cheap too. Very skimpy on the feathers. Skirt material was pretty thin. They will catch fish (seen it with my own eyes!), but I agree with Bud that they won't hold up nearly as well as Sevenstrand.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I guess someone said it right in regards to getting what you paid for.....
Good thing I didn't buy very many of these.....
I did get a bunch more 7-strands at least..... Hard to beat the original but had to see for myself.....
Oh well, off to rigging them.....

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I bought them thinking the same thing...for $2.50 I'll try them...still not a bad option for how hard the wind has been blowing!

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
The cheap ones that I saw Chark selling were advertised as seconds and were discounted. Not sure if that is what you purchased but if it was maybe there was a reason for the deep discount. I bought some as well and had no trouble rigging them, but the colors did bleed a bit.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
Not a problem if you actually fish with a rod and reel instead of rope.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I also bought some of these and had to use the point of a hook to "open" up the top of the hole on the lead a little wider.
After that I had no problem rigging them with 200# test. I too had 1 catch a fish but I agree they are on the flimsy and cheap side.

Re: Tuna Jigs From Charkbait Arrived
I also bought some of these and had two that had no holes in them. I made a call and two more arrived a few days later. No charge. I also had to use a hook to enlarge the top hole on some. They may not last as lonhg as some others but at that price they wont have too!
