Default newport/waldport cclamming

I will be camping at South Beach the next few nights. This was supposed to be on offshore fishing vacation. That does not look promising given the waether forecast. Any good places to clam in either Newport Bay or Alsea Bay that I can get to without taking the boat? ( My boat is moored at Newport, but is not really suited to puling up to a sand bar)

Crabbing is red hot in the Alsea right now. There is a public crabbing dock near the boat ramp. I had a friend that limited 4 people in 2 hours yesturday. The grade of crab is also very good.

I'll be clamming Yaquina and Crabbing Alsea on Monday and Tuesday. PM me if you want the spots I was shown (pay it forward, you know...)
