Why?
Why do they salt the rim of your margirta glass and then give you a straw?

Re: Why?
If it's 2% milk, what's the other 98%?

Got me? Have you ever tried to drink salt off the rim of a glass with a straw?

Why do I have this feeling that if I was cloned that my clone would have more fun than I do?

He would already know all the mistakes you had made?

Can even a clone know THAT much?

But that still doesn't answer my question: what's the other 98%?

Re: Why?
Why don't I ever see my fifth child - "notme"? I have been looking for that kid for years. When I get my hands on him, he's going to regret showing himself. Not only that, I need his social security number so I can redo all my tax returns for the last 7 years!

I get asked that on a daily basis, really. (I run a dairy dept. for a retail chain) Still scratching my head to come up with a creative comeback.
Here's a few of my own for other questions I get.
"Excuse me sir, where is your honey?" "She'd better be at home cleaning my fish/waiting for me in something skimpy/washing my truck etc. I choose my subjects carefully with this one...
"Excuse me sir, where do you have your shoe laces?" I just say nothing and stare at my feet. If they don't get it after 5 seconds I just give up and show them the aisle. No point in wasting perfectly good humor.
And to keep in the spirit of the thread, from George Carlin, "Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways???"

Re: Why?
Since we have the dairy guy here;
Why do they have to put an allergy warning like this on butter?

Re: Why?
Because the world is full of uninformed people who might know that they are lactose intolerant but not realize that butter contains milk? That seems the most logical supposition.

I don't make the labels, I just order/stock the stuff!
Seriously though, the seemingly idiotic warnings on products are a CYA against lawsuits, nothing more.
Sure makes for some fun on the LIG board though.
