Default Lets see your range!

Thought I would show my target set up to date.its not done however,I am looking for ideas on how to build an XXXL broadhead target for tuning and also I have two daugters I am starting to teach archery, so I'm sure I will need the large target. The size I want is around 6'x6'
My ideas so far have been.....

1.build a super "block" with thin foam and
compressed with 2x10 and allthread rod, but
that much thin foam would cost more than just
buying several "blocks".
2.same idea but with compressed cardboard.but
that seems like it might kill my arrows, guess
I might not know till I try it, also might not
hold up through our weather.

so if you have any ideas or just pictures of
your range lets see them

That is a sweet little target mix, congrats on getting the girls involved. Those feed bag targets work really good laying down on a saw horse set up. You can shoot them broadside and quartering away to teach the young shooters the various shots they might see in the field and where to place an arrow based on the angle for a good double lunger. Plus it works good if you set it up with the "head" end facing you how the vitals on a quartering on shot are difficult to accomplish. Nice set up !!

I'm thinkin' they probably would.

I'll tell you what, though. During the "fun" matches at Camp Perry- the Springfield and Garand matches- 1800+ people will put bullets into the berm pretty regularly. If yer pulling pit duty and here a "KER-THUNK" you sure learn to back up close to the berm. That very distinct sound indicates that your shooter just shot very low. A split second later a wave of sand will wash over the berm- about 3 or 4 gallons worth- and if you're not backed up close to it you will end up with most of that on your head and right down your shirt collar!

The fun starts in about a week. Missed my plane last year, too outta shape to try it this year.

regards, aw
