Default Seal Rock's Saturday?

We are looking to try for an early a.m. trip to Seal Rocks to find some Salmon, since the Tuna thing looks to be a bust. I usually run from Garibaldi, so not quite sure on where we should head. Can anybody help us out? Thanks in advance!!

Simple way--
Call the Coast Guard first, checck bad restrictions then
go out over the bar heading to the whislter can, at the end of the bouy chain., upon approaching the red/white bouy turn to port(left) and head down the beach towards Seal Rock. Watch for the group of boats and you'll know your there with the fleet. The fleet may be out as far as five or more miles from shore. Or they could be closer. Probably going to have a lot of boats heading out Sat. morning. Ask around the dock and find someone heading down there. Like a buddy boat , always nice to have someone with you.

And we are talking about a vessel that is Ocean capable, Right. 19 ft or bigger with all the nav stuff and vhf etc.............

If not fish the bay. Have fun and catch alot.

If you do not have local knowledge, you should NOT turn south until you get very close to the outer (entrance) buoy. Stay in at least 100 feet of water when going up & down the beach.

If you look at the chart it should be obvious....the south reef, and several other high spots, will break if there is a moderate swell.

Good advice in the previous posts about staying off the South Reef.

I will be heading out at about 0600 if the weather holds and headed to the same area around Seal Rock. Right now, it is dead calm, but almost looks as if a thunderstorm is brewing. From the neighbors deck, it appears the near shore water has really laid down.

Good luck in the morning!
